For its innovative and effective use of the Internet and e-mail, E-Cards is happy to present a 2005 Golden Frog Award to the Natural Resources Defense Council.
The NRDC's information-packed web site highlights the group's campaigns on energy, global warming, wilderness preservation and public health. More than 1 million people are either members of NRDC or take action through its online Earth Action Center. Their online campaigns this year against oil drilling in the Alaska National Wildlife Refuge were particularly outstanding. The organization uses its experts and celebrity supporters to gain additional clout. Furthermore, the organization has not lost its optimistic spirit, even in a political atmosphere that can be hostile to environmental progress.
In recognition of its dedication in battles at the grassroots level, in the courts and through the Internet, we are thrilled to present our Golden Frog Award and a $1,000 check to the NRDC. We hope it will help the NRDC to carry on!
